Built in 1889 for John McInteer, this Victorian Mansion holds a lot of secrets. So far, there have been nine documented deaths, one being a suicide. At one time, the house was used as a boarding house. We are still trying to uncover the secrets of those 25 years. Isobel “Goldie” Altus purchased the boarding house in hopes of restoring the mansion. She lived alone in the Villa from 1952-1969, when she died in her rocking chair. Her rocking chair still sits in the same room that she lay dead in for over 24 hours. The chair has been known to rock back and forth on its own. Footsteps and voices are often heard throughout the house.
Doors opening and closing, being touched and the feeling of being “watched” is often reported from guests, especially on the second floor and attic. Many people have an uneasy feeling when they enter the seven room basement.
